Bracelet Weaves / Beading Challenge Reveal

Here's the bracelet I came up with for the beading challenge:

I made it using almost all beads I showed you HERE a month ago. I changed the color of three blue round seed beads and removed some of the green ones.

That was the first time where I was more focused in the colors I was going to use than in the pattern itself. Usually, when I'm creating a new design, I don't pay much attention to the colors. I will just think about it when I have the design done. But I'm pleased with the result of this new brainstorm process. I'll definitely try it more times from now on!

After shooting the video, I made another bracelet with some blue howlite chips that I had:

I used three techniques to make the bracelets: ladder stitch, brick stitch (increases and decreases) and double netting. The pattern is not difficult, but it was hard for me to show you on the camera how to make double netting with all those beads in different sizes and colors. So I'll recommend this tutorial for intermediate/advanced beaders, who knows well how to work with netting stitch.

The materials I used in the Blue/Green bracelet:
- Toho Hex bead, size 8/0, color: metallic dark navy iris (#88); store
- Toho round bead, size 8/0, color: metallic dark navy iris (#88); store

Flying Bracelet

Let's celebrate the summer with a new tutorial, shall we?  ^_^

I called it "flying bracelet" because it remembers me of fly's wings! Lol The bracelet is quite easy to make and I love how easy it is to play with colors in this pattern.

I wanted to make all them in summer colors, but I couldn't resist making one in black/silver.

Now, the key to successfully make these bracelets is to use a tight tension when adding the rizo beads. And because of that, it's important to use a strong thread like Fireline.

Here's the list of materials that I used and the link for the stores where I bought them:

Pink bracelet
- Rizo beads, 2.5x6mm, color: lilac luster; store
- Pellet beads, 4x6mm,  color: chalk white marbled purple; store
- Toho round seed beads, size 11/0, color: matte opaque soft lilac (#765); store
- Toho round seed beads, size 15/0, color: ceylon lilac (#151); store
- Fireline 8lb, 0.18 mm, white;
- Magnetic clasp, 12x8mm, color: antique copper;

Black bracelet
- Rizo beads, 2.5x6mm, color: jet chrome; store
- Pellet beads, 4x6mm,  color: chrome full; store
- Toho round seed beads, size 11/0, color: nickel plated (711); store
- Toho round seed beads, size 15/0, color: silver lined gray (29B); store
- Fireline 8lb, 0.18 mm, black;
- Magnetic clasp, 8x12mm, color: gunmetal;

Green/orange bracelet
- Rizo beads, 2.5x6mm, color: peridot capri gold; store
- Pellet beads, 4x6mm,  color: alabaster pastel lime; store
- Miyuki round seed beads, size 11/0, color: unknown;
- Japanese round seed beads, size 15/0, color: unknown;
- Fireline 8lb, 0.18 mm, white;
- Magnetic clasp, 12x7mm, color: antique brass;

Tutorial: Simple Netting Bracelet

At the beginning of this month I decided I wanted to learn netting stitch. I already knew the basics - I think I made one or two projects with netting in the past - but I never stopped to really learn this technique.

And I thought that would be nice to share with you what I'm learning. So you may expect a bunch of posts talking about netting in the future. :)

To start our journey, I created this very simple bracelet in netting. I didn't add any embellishment to it because I wanted to focus on the technique. But besides its simplicity, I really like how nice it stays on my wrist. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I made the tutorial with high quality pictures. The size of the original PDF file is 15.6 Mb. But I also created a compressed PDF file (4.8 Mb) for those of you who prefer smaller files. Here are the links for the two versions of the tutorial:

The beads I used in the bracelets are Czech beads size 11/0. Unfortunately I don't have any information about the colors.

And this is another version of the bracelet (the first one), with a different clasp:

Please tell me what you think of the tutorial. :-)

Spiral Bracelet Tutorial

This bracelet is very simple and easy to make. It's just simple spiral rope with a modification at the beginning and at the end of the spiral.

You can download the tutorial for the bracelet HERE.
