Bracelet Weaves / Beading Challenge Reveal

Here's the bracelet I came up with for the beading challenge:

I made it using almost all beads I showed you HERE a month ago. I changed the color of three blue round seed beads and removed some of the green ones.

That was the first time where I was more focused in the colors I was going to use than in the pattern itself. Usually, when I'm creating a new design, I don't pay much attention to the colors. I will just think about it when I have the design done. But I'm pleased with the result of this new brainstorm process. I'll definitely try it more times from now on!

After shooting the video, I made another bracelet with some blue howlite chips that I had:

I used three techniques to make the bracelets: ladder stitch, brick stitch (increases and decreases) and double netting. The pattern is not difficult, but it was hard for me to show you on the camera how to make double netting with all those beads in different sizes and colors. So I'll recommend this tutorial for intermediate/advanced beaders, who knows well how to work with netting stitch.

The materials I used in the Blue/Green bracelet:
- Toho Hex bead, size 8/0, color: metallic dark navy iris (#88); store
- Toho round bead, size 8/0, color: metallic dark navy iris (#88); store
- Toho round bead, size 8/0, color: capri-lined crystal luster (#188); store
- Toho round bead, size 11/0, color: metallic dark navy iris (#88); store

Summer challenge

I never participated in a beading challenge before, so I was thrilled when Odin invited me to take part of one with her, JRPDesigns and Ruby Lockwood! The challenge consists in creating something using one of the two summer color palettes below:

These were the two most voted palettes. Both of them represent a big challenge to me because I never thought of using these colors together, especially to create a summer piece. My first choice was the second palette, but I don't have the beads I need in these colors. So I had to pick up the first palette.

Here are the beads I chose:

To match the dark blue, I'm going to use one (or all) of these beads:

The ones below correspond to the second blue (not sure if they truly match the blue in the picture, but they're the closest I could get):

The third color:

And the greens. Besides the chips, I'm still not sure which of the green beads I'm going to use.

I'm very excited to see what I can do with these beads. In a month I'll show you the result.

Meanwhile, check what beads the other participants chose:
